Hi, friend, I’m Katherine. I’m living a life I never imagined. And maybe you are, too.

At 26 years old I was a wife and new mom chasing my dreams of acting and modeling in Los Angeles. Out of the blue on a clear April day, I suffered a catastrophic stroke. I shouldn’t have survived, but I did.

Sixteen hours in life-saving brain surgery. Forty days in intensive care. Years of re-learning to talk, walk, and swallow. To this day, I’m still navigating the new realities of my bittersweet, second-chance life with disabilities. In 2015, I gave birth to my second son, a miracle child named John.

Today, I’m disrupting the myth that joy can only be found in a pain-free life at live speaking events, in my best-selling books, and on the GoodHard Story Podcast. My ministry Hope Heals is making hope accessible by creating sacred spaces of belonging and belovedness for people experiencing disabilities. Those sacred spaces include Hope Heals Camps, Retreats, Hangouts, and Mend Coffee and Goods.
