I’m here to remind you that it’s possible for your pain to make you better instead of bitter.
I never imagined I’d become a spokeswoman for resilience, but my journey has been a crash course in learning to do my creative best with my one-and-only life. At 26, I suffered a catastrophic brainstem stroke that left me with lifelong disabilities. After months in intensive care and years of rehabilitation, I rebuilt my life determined to thrive—and not just survive—within my new limitations.
Today, I’m sharing my one-in-a-million story with audiences around the world, proving that adversity isn’t the end of the story—it’s the beginning of a new one.
With humor, honesty, and hard-won wisdom, I’m challenging teams, leaders, congregations, and students to tap into their reserves of resilience, adapt to change, and find purpose in unexpected circumstances.
As the co-founder of Hope Heals, a nonprofit that creates community for people with disabilities and their families, I understand what it means to lead through uncertainty and turn limitations into opportunities. My profound but practical message resonates with corporate audiences, leaving them equipped and eager to navigate disruption, reframe challenges, foster inclusive cultures, and build teams that are redefined, rather than defeated, by hardship.
